Meeting Lucy Colgan, founder of The Wilderness of Creativity podcast has been, and continues to be an absolute gift. Connecting via Substack, and through our mutual interest exploring the intersection between joy and creativity, we instantly bonded.
Forging such a connection led to a wonderful guest speaker invitation and a friendship - the kind where magic sparkles, excitement overflows, and the world feels universally aligned.
Having appeared on the show, l was curious to listen to other guests, and tuned into further episodes - leading to a wealth of enlightening discoveries.
Creativity shows up in a plethora of ways. Nourishment for the soul, it is an invaluable source of restorative fuel - sorely needed, especially during times of self-doubt, hesitation or when seeking (re)connection to self.
The Wilderness of Creativity podcast acts as a soulful, friendly and gentle gateway to (re)opening a weary heart, mind and spirit.
Here are some personal favourites - a couple of suggested episodes to help you on your way, as well as the link to Episode 63 - Show up and the magic will happen.
How to find your joy.
If you're feeling disconnected to joy, l warmly encourage you to tune into this episode. Sitting in a departure lounge while listening to Joy Coach, Leah Evans, l found her conversation with Lucy to be a spirited exchange - a breath of fresh air, abundant in warmth and relatable self-expression. Leah's wisdom, as well as her tips on how to juggle parenthood while retaining your inner-child, exudes from a friendly place of authenticity - making for an enjoyable, and heartwarming audio piece. The dancing tip especially speaks to my joy spreader heart.
Feug shi secrets to supercharge your creativity.
During this fascinating chat, Feng Shi expert Lorraine Lem shares her expertise on this ancient Chinese practice. During this insightful episode, Lorraine talks about the psychological attachment to clutter, how it can block creative flow and drain our energy.
Learning about the Five elements of Feng Shi, and how it supports creativity and balance generates food for thought. It certainly left me looking at my front door, and hallway in a whole new light.
Part two of this exchange, (Ep.59) explores colour theory and the Bagua map - a map which evaluates the energy field of your environment by splitting it into 8 areas. l found it incredibly revealing in how shapes, and layouts can affect your creative energy.
Show up and the magic will happen. This is the one where l chat with Lucy on ways to reconnect to your creative-self, using the Seeing The Invisible Line methods and touchstones. l also share personal stories on how l found joy in times of grief, and transitions. This episode, along with a You Tube clip can be found on the STIL homepage.
May this innovative and visionary podcast support you in living a fuller life - one which is aligned with your truest self - lit up with creative joyful moments.
