Following on from reading Laura's first book The Light Between Us, l felt drawn to read her latest book Guided. It turned out to be a remarkable read, and rather an emotive one - leaving me feeling profoundly connected to the spiritual realm.

It was truly breathtaking to discover a chapter called 72, especially since the house l lived at during most of my childhood was No.72. Reading this particular story from the book, inspired me to ask my late mother for a sign.

Lo and behold it showed up during a Sunday stroll in the countryside. l was completely bowled over by this finding, and subsequently wrote about it as part of my morning reflections.

What happened next was another wondrous example of how we can communicate with pass loved ones - our team of light...

Reading chapters filled with moving stories of people asking for signs, encouraged me to ask my late mother for another sign - this time, a purple heart.

The day after this soulful request, two heart shapes showed up - both on the purple spectrum.

The first heart surprisingly jumped out at me whilst reading a magazine article. The extra magic: our first family home was No.17. This on its own generated a beaming smile.

The other purple heart appeared via a social media posting, by friend and Leadership Coaching and Logosynthesis practitioner, Pamela Ann Burkhalter. She facilitates the most beautiful meditation sessions, which l frequently attend and highly recommend.

All these beautiful signs have made my heart expand and radiate immense joy. For they all wondrously connect me to my beloved mother.

I am thankful for this book's wisdom, insights and invitation to connect with spirit. l've always believed in the realm beyond the physical world - all that we cannot see, yet these recent signs have deepened my belief - taking my understanding to a deeper level - we truly are all connected.

Throughout Guided, Laura Lynne Jackson not only shares people's personal stories of such connections, yet also expands upon the scientific research and breakthroughs, such as sharing thoughts on studies connected to psi phenomena - experiences that are not explained by physical or biological mechanisms:

"l think we're on the verge of being able to display a kind of theory that would allow psi phenomena to occur and not be incompatible wit what we know about physics," says Edward Kelly, a professor at the Division of Perceptual Studies at the University of Virginia. "And when that hapens, it changes the game." (excerpt from Guided, Laura Lynne Jackson)

A particular chapter within Part Three , The Power of Art, reflects an ethos close to my heart:

" Scientific studies have established a strong connection between creating and enjoying art and our overall wellness as humans, and as a result, healthcare providers are incorporating the arts into their treatments " (excerpt from Guided, Laura Lynne Jackson)

As someone who has worked within the creative sector for over 25 years, and experienced first-hand how creativity helps to illuminate our lives, it is encouraging to hear the arts are being weaved into the healthcare sector.

Touching on how nature supports us, also lights me up, as it is daily touchstone which l personally rejoice in.

Guided is for those who are seeking connection to passed loved ones, and ultimately themselves. It is also an enlightening source of solace and inspiration - one that acts as a beacon of light.
